The videos were recorded in April and May 2020. When Covid-19 attacked all over the world. Everything was stopped.
Sometimes I went for a walk in my apartment because it was the only thing I could do at that moment. I had a camera and a microphone with me. I took them with me when I went for a walk. The sights and sounds through the electronics were completely different from what I was receiving from nature.
The walk broadened my perspective. Before, my world was limited to 50 meters from home and school. The end of the world was only 50 meters away.
At that time, with the camera and the microphone, I was able to overcome the fear. The fear that the world would end. The fear that my music wouldn’t get anywhere. The fear that I don’t know what the future holds.
…
Whenever I had the feeling that the prospect was something new, I took it to the camera and into the microphone. Even though everything was already there, I didn’t know or realize they were there.
If the unexpected pause had never happened, I could never see the world for what it is. I was stuck in the corner. With my eyes closed. With fear. I hope you can feel the newness and the lingering energy I felt while recording the videos.
Surprisingly, but not surprisingly, it was not the end of the world.
It was just a connecting line, like many other lines,
leading in the other direction of the world.
It doesn’t take many things to cross the line.
All you need is courage and hope.
I am glad that I was able to cross it. I hope we can all cross the line.
April 2020.
