It occurred to me that my interpretation of sound and space could only be produced, performed, and expressed through the sounds I make myself. The places I have passed through, such as cathedrals, parks, museums, and streets, could exist with me through the sounds I make every day. The times I lived through were fragmented through sound and existed simultaneously with the present. I was afraid of the unrecorded sounds, afraid that I could not control them.
But they are there.
In every moment.
And they create space.
Places I’ve been.
Or places I’ve never been.
Or spaces I’ve only imagined.
I hope this work will be exhibited in many places such as
Modern art museums
Old cathedrals
Open spaces
everyday walks with headphones on
